Career: Teacher, Principal of Bethune Elementary School Pontiac Michigan. Dr. Hawkins served over 40 years as a Superintendent & Executive Leadership of School Districts including Pontiac, Benton Harbor, Ypsilanti, Jackson, MI, Evanston, Illinois and Gary, Indiana.
He held leadership roles and was a frequent speaker for local, state, national and international organizations. He is known as the ‘leader of superintendents’ because of his leadership, knowledge & collaborative skills in getting the job done for the youth.
Life member Hawkins also served continuously within the Fraternity in those cities where he lived. He has received many awards including the 2010 Distinguish Service Award by the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti Chamber of Commerce and the 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award by the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti-Inkster Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi.
