Career: Musician, Teacher, Mentor, Counselor and School Administrator, Pontiac Public Schools
He was an Entrepreneur within the Pontiac Metropolitan Community participating in the family restaurant called ‘Little Pig’.
Life Member Fred Smith was credited for organizing the local Kappa Brothers, which later became the Pontiac Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. The first meeting was held at his home. From his early teens throughout all his adult years, Polemarch Fred Smith mentored the youth and he served on many civic, social, educational and religious organizations within the community.
For his continuous meritorious service to the fraternity, Pontiac Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha honored him by naming the ‘Fred Smith Wall of Fame’, which is located in the Pontiac Kappa Center; one of his lifelong dreams.
